As part of donations, we can also donate water or buttermilk. Some offer unlimited water to be flown over Shivling which we call it as jalanthika (vessel with a small hole). We got Tritiya name because whoever does Japa (chanting), Homa, Annadhana (offering food) will be blessed with akshaka (unlimited wealth) so it’s called with Akshaya Tritiya. Here we get this blessing by offering and donations but not by purchasing. Today we offer to gods, rushis and our ancestors to get their blessings.

“Yatkarothi truthiyayam krishnam chandana bhooshitam vaishakasyasithe pakshe sayathyatchyuthamandiram.”

Which means we need to apply sandalwood and decorate him beautiful. He will bless us by showing the path to Vaikunta. That’s why in Simhachalam this day is considered a special day. Today we also offer udhakumbadhanam (clay pot) to Brahmin by thinking it is offered to Lord Vishnu by chanting this mantra

"Yesha darma gatodatto brahma Vishnu shivarpakaha asyapradhanarchakala mamasanthu manoratha"

Also, we need to pray that clay pot with sandalwood, yava dhanya, fruits, and panchopachara pooja and then offer to Brahmin. Before doing this we need to Sankalpa by chanting

“Sri parameshwara preethyartham udhakumbha dhanoktha phalavapthyam bhrahmanaya udhakumbha dhana karishye”

udhakumbha dhana can be performed in two ways one is for pleasing lord Vishnu and another is to please our ancestors.
