Ladies and sashtanga namaskara
Why should not ladies do sashtanga namaskara? Normally when males do sashtanga namaskara (sleep on the floor facing towards the ground to take blessings), all eight parts, their chest, forehead, two hand, two legs and both eyes of the body touches the ground. But when a woman does the same thing, their belly also touches the ground, where they have parts which are responsible for giving birth. People believe that there might be a sign of bad things to have happened. This is the only reason all ancient scripts prescribe women not to do sashtanga namaskar.
