Significance of Karthika Vana Bhojanam



On earth, trees have got the significant role they are serving humankind in many ways. In Indian culture, Amla tree (Indian gooseberry) is worshipped as it has got many health benefits. One who eats amla every day will be free from many diseases as it has got properties to increase our immunity.

Also, those who lighten lamp down the tree and chants Vishnu Sahasranamam will be blessed with Lord Vishnu. That is why during the season of “Karthika” we will have food under the shelter of amla tree. Also, we find people lighting the lamp on amla using cow ghee.

Also, we find people going to the forest and have meals under amla tree (Vana Bhojanam), by doing this it is considered to respect nature god with due respect. Our ancestors told, “Vruksho Rakshati Rakshitaha” which means if we plant and protect and serve trees, they will in return protect and give us luck.

Lord Ganesh likes Nivedana,
Lord Shiva likes Abhishekam,
Goddess Mata likes Stotram,
Lord Vishnu likes Decoration,
Lord Sun likes Namaskar.

When it comes to humans, Indian Ladies like sarees, garments whereas men like money and prestige. Children like playing and old age people are much concerned with devotion.
