Many of us believe that the wife should always be towards the left side of her husband. But our sastras doesn’t insist it happen always.

During the time of performing pooja or while you are offering to someone then wife needs to be towards the left of her husband. But during ‘kanyadhan’ and ‘vigraha pratishta’ wife needs to be on the right side of the husband.

According to Sastras, during the creation of human beings, Lord Brahma created male from his right shoulder and female from the left shoulder. Also, we all know that Lord Vishnu safeguards his wife goddess Lakshmi on his left heart.

Even during sleep husband keeps his right hand on his wife and try to protect her. With husbands touch, wife gets an immense feeling of protection and gets into sleep.
