Who heard Hanuman Chalisa first?


Tulasi Dasa Goswamy wrote Sri Rama Charitamanas. When Sri Rama Charitamanas was sung by Tulasi Das Lord Hanuman used to come. As we all know that where ever lord Rama name is chanted or sung his song, Lord Hanuman will be there.

Once when Tulasi Das finished singing Sri Rama Charitamanas all people left but one old man was left behind. He was enjoying the pleasure of the song. Then Tulasi Das touched the toes of the old man, Lord Hanuman who took the form of the old man showed his original form. Tulasi Das was filled with joy by seeing Lord Hanuman original form and started singing sloka consisting of 40 padyas. It is known as Hanuman Chalisa and was first listened by Lord Hanuman himself.

  • When we are visiting the temples of Lord Shiva, Goddess Lakshmi and Saraswathi we need to wear white clothes.
  • When we visit Goddess Parvathi and Lord Vinayaka we need to wear red colour clothes.
  • When we visit any form of Lord Vishnu – Sri Ram, Sri Krishna, Sri Venkateshwara Swamy, we need to wear yellow colour clothes.
