In India, we find giving aarti not just in houses, we give it in temples, occasions when a child is born when a bride enters the house and many other situations. Whatever the situation is if we give aarthi there is a health secret behind it. If there is any occasion, we find people crowding in a place; similarly, we find it in temples. Because of this, our surroundings are filled with impure air and there is a chance of bacteria and other harmful germ growth. By burning camphor, many of these harmful bacteria and germs get destroyed.

We get protected by airborne diseases and other contact diseases. As camphor melts when burned, we pray to god that even our faults and sins should get melted and we take aarti by touching its presence to our eyes.
