Mukkoti Ekadasi
On the day of Mukkoti, Lord Sri Maha Vishnu will wake up from yoga sleep. On that particular day, he will be shown to all from the north point. If we see him from the north gate then it is believed that we get punyam. People believe that if we visit him first on this auspicious day and have a wish in our heart then they get fulfilled. If we visit him through the north gate on this day leaving all our worries and work, along with Lord Vishnu we also get blessed with mukkoti devatas.


Mukkoti Ekadasi Rituals:
  • One should wake up early and complete ablutions.
  • Try to observe strict fasting without eating and drinking even water.
  • For people who are weak, old or cannot afford to maintain strict fasting can have fruits and milk.
  • Special prayers like chanting lord Vishnu slokas, Vishnu sahasranamam should be done.
  • One should spend his day by listening to songs, doing bhajans and singing and praising Lord Vishnu.
  • As said above, one should visit Lord Vishnu temple, if there is no such temple at least visit any form of Lord Vishnu Ex: Lord Rama, Krishna, etc.
  • One who follows all these rituals will never see Yama Raja, they will visit directly Vaikunta (a place where there is no word of sorrow)

Importance of Vaastu Shastra:


Vaastu shastra is an ancient architecture knowledge originated in India. It is the science of construction used in alignment of structures, it’s been used traditionally while construction of temples and villages.

According to Vedas, Maamuni Mayan and Vishwakarma are well known architects from ancient period. It’s been said that this knowledge is been transferred before Ramayana. While Lord Rama went to forest obeying his father’s orders, they constructed ‘parnasala’ to live in the forest. Before their entrance it’s said that they did vaastu puja and entered the parnasala.

Vaastu sastras is designed in such a way that cosmic energy and other forces will help in leading healthy and peaceful lives. While constructing, it’s mathematically calculated keeping in mind of five elements (earth, water, fire, space and air).
